Why do bad things happen?

Why does everything seem to cave in at once?

How can people be so cruel?

With so much hardship going on in this world, it made me think of something my dad said a few years ago: “I think that’s why the Lord wants us to suffer, to appreciate His sacrifice.”

We may not know why we go through the things we do and why innocent people get hurt, but we can take comfort in the fact that the Creator holds the earth in His hands. I think it’s important to remember what Jesus went through and how He willingly died for us. It’s then that hardships don’t seem as big, and; suddenly, He is bigger than all of it.

I Peter 4:1 Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh,^[a] arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin

Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
