Naomi is often noted for her bitterness, but there is a faith-filled side to Naomi as well. Put yourself in Naomi’s shoes for a moment and imagine where she was physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
She follows her husband as he moves their family in an unwise decision. Her sons marry women that do not know Christ. Her husband and 2 sons die within a short span of time. This does not leave excuse for wrongdoing, but appreciate how Naomi would have experienced unimaginable hurt.
The fact that both of her daughter-n-laws were willing to travel back to Naomi’s homeland with her was a testament to Naomi’s faith. Although she did express bitterness in her situation, she guided Ruth wisely and was able to be blessed with a growing family and be in the geneology of Jesus!
God can use you…if you let Him. Whatever age, stage of life, or attitude towards Him. Let God in. Release the bitterness, anxiety, and confusion to the Lord of your life. He sees you. He knows where you are and does not wish you to continue in negativity, but to come to Him as a child to their Father.
