Orpah and Ruth were both compelled to follow Naomi in faith, but one took action while the other didn’t.
What did this mean for both women? There is no further account of Orpah, but no doubt she would’ve been comfortable as she returned to her family, friends, country, and traditions.
Ruth decided to do what was naturally uncomfortable but what she knew she must. Were the next few years comfortable? No. They were filled with hard, ungrateful work and living with a bitter mother-n-law.
What were the end results of both women? Orpah has no further mention in the Bible and Ruth remarries a kind man that loves her and provides for her and Ruth and becomes a direct ancestor of Jesus.
God’s blessings are not always apparent in the near future,, but do not mistake his generous blessings on an obedient and humble follower of Him!
