The Girl from Berlin by Ronald Balson

Anything relating to World War I/World War II/ The Holocaust are extremely intriguing to me. This historical fiction book goes back and forth between the past and the present. It is mainly based on a Jewish girl in Germany and her story during the Holocaust and how it can save an Italian villa in the present.

The Librarian of Auschwitz by Antonio Iturbe

This book is based on a real life Auschwitz prisoner, Dita Kraus, whose love and passion for books creates an incredible story of bravery. This young girl performed daring acts to protect others and keep the love for books alive during such a tragic time in history.

The Pelican Brief by John Grisham

While I have never seen the movie for this book and cannot attest to it, I can definitely recommend the book! The President of the United States, other significant political persons, FBI agents, and a law student all become mixed in a big conspiracy of the murder of two supreme court justices. How did a law student become entangled with some important figures and crimes?
