No matter how weathered you may be
I am proud that you stand for the free
So much represented by your stripes and stars
The beauty of her success and all her scars
Even before you were sewn
Seeds of patriotism, bravery, and valour were grown
Sprouting through wars
Your perseverance roars
Many disparities amongst those that seek a new future
But to the flag it is the common unity that speaks truer
Those that gave their lives and everything they owned
So that she may be displayed proudly and freely flown
Much more than cloth and fabric is she
A testament to America – land of the free!
